Opening and dedication of ECHO's West Africa Regional Impact Center

ECHO’s presence and charge were embraced in official remarks from the Offices of the President of Parliament and the Minister of Agriculture.  ECHO’s President and CEO, Stan Doerr, described the faith motivation of ECHO’s work and its mission to equip and resource those working with small-scale farmers and pastoralists throughout the Region.  

The attendees, under the shade of three large tents, also enjoyed musical interludes by a locally-renown drummer and a solo guitarist.  The Presidents of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church and the Assembly of God Church of Burkina Faso opened and closed, respectively, the program with prayers of dedication and commissioning.

Following the program, the approximately 300 guests were provided with a narrated tour of the ECHO Center’s garden – demonstrating key farming and gardening practices, including:  Foundations for Farming system of planting maize; key hole gardens; tire plantings; drip irrigation; Moringa trees; a variety of fruit trees; a chicken tractor; other high nutrition plantings; and, a biogas production drum.

ECHO’s West Africa Impact Center is under the Direction of Mr. Robert Sanou.  The 3rd West Africa Networking Forum is planned to be held in Ouagadougou the 23rd – 25th of September, followed by field visits on the 26th.  For further details please visit:
